Register for the Skills for CA Power Hour – Training and Hiring Strategies that Lead to Good Jobs for Immigrant Communities and English Language Learners.

California is home to nearly 11 million immigrants – accounting for almost 27 percent of the state’s population. Roughly 2.5 million immigrants are undocumented, meaning less access to social safety net programs, financial assistance, and job security. Throughout the ongoing pandemic, immigrants, including English language learners (ELL), have been impacted the most – facing systemic barriers that have greatly limited their access to supportive services and opportunities to gain critical skills training. Although there have been some improvements and investments made in the state’s budget, there is still much work to be done to support immigrants and English language learners. Join us to hear from experts in the field who will share more about the unique barriers these communities face and strategies that can increase access to economic mobility in today’s labor market.
