Policy Director, Western Region
Alicia Lewis is the Western Region Policy Director for the Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO). In this role she is leading a multi-state strategy to advance policies that will increase economic mobility and remove barriers to employment for people reentering the community after incarceration.
Alicia’s expertise is based on robust Capitol experience where she has had the honor of serving as a Chief of Staff in the Assembly and Deputy Legislative Director in the Senate. Alicia has also worked as a lobbyist, representing clients on employment, economic justice, health, and related issues.
Some of Alicia’s most notable legislative accomplishments include ending solitary confinement of minors, expanding services for youth who are pregnant or parenting, and passing the landmark Fair Sentencing for Youth Act, which ended life without parole for juveniles.
Alicia earned her BA in Political Science from California State University, Stanislaus, where she was a Ronald E. McNair Scholar.
