Alicia Lewis

Alicia Lewis joined the CA EDGE Coalition team as its new Program Manager where she will be leading outreach and engagement efforts related to workforce development, education, and training. Alicia previously served on the CA EDGE Coalition’s Board of Directors and is proud to continue advancing EDGE’s mission in this new role.

Alicia has robust Capitol experience having worked as a Chief of Staff in the CA State Assembly, Deputy Legislative Director in the CA State Senate, and an advocate for cause-based organizations. She has successfully applied her advocacy to diverse areas, including issues related to labor and employment, gender equality, health, and economic justice.

Most recently, Alicia worked as the Western Region Policy Director at the Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO), focusing on reform efforts to reduce recidivism and increase economic mobility for people returning home after incarceration.

Some of Alicia’s most notable accomplishments include the landmark Fair Sentencing for Youth Act, which ended life without parole for juveniles, working to end the solitary confinement of minors, expanding services and protections for youth who are pregnant or parenting, promoting pay equity, and ending triple-digit predatory lending in California.

While born and raised in the Central Valley, Alicia has taken to being a true Sacramentan. She is an active member of the community, loves soccer (go Sac Republic!), and is an avid quilter.

Alicia earned her BA in Political Science from California State University, Stanislaus, where she was a Ronald E. McNair Scholar.
