Jason Henderson is the Policy Analyst for the California EDGE Coalition. He is responsible for researching and evaluating policies to assess their effectiveness while identifying their benefits and drawbacks. His work centers around collaborating with partners and communities to increase awareness of EDGE’s policy priorities and initiatives.
Previously, Jason served as the Strategic Outreach Coordinator for the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC), where he connected underserved communities with financial aid resources. Before CSAC, he was the Legislative Associate at the California Council for Environmental and Economic Balance (CCEEB), addressing legislative and regulatory issues related to air quality, transportation, and energy. Jason began his career as a Legislative Analyst with the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA). His professional highlights include blocking the 2018 recension of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) while spearheading the ACSA Federal Advocacy Program – a grassroots approach to empowering California’s educational leadership.
Jason received his Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). Jason continues to serve his CSULB community through the Beach Mentorship program, where he aids transfer students and student-athletes in graduate and career opportunities. In his downtime, Jason is a bonsai tree enthusiast and enjoys training his dog, Beamer. In late July 2024, Jason and his wife, Alia, welcomed their first child, Maverick.
